Securing a childcare place

Cariboo Child Care is currently accepting waitlist applications from TRU students, staff and faculty only. Proof of enrollment in TRU classes or employment at TRU will be required prior to confirmation of a place.

Please note that our aim is to continually fill a minimum 70% of Cariboo Child Care spaces with children of TRU students. This means that openings for staff and faculty are limited. However, we do accept waitlist applications and trust that staff and faculty will understand our dilemma when matching children to places.

Beyond the Bell school age program provides services to children attending South Sa-Hali Elementary School only. If your child is attending, or you hope your child will attend this school, and you would like to be added to the wait list, please complete the form.

  • Submitting an application to be waitlisted does not guarantee you will be given a childcare space. Incorrectly submitted applications will be voided. Please note that
    • Beyond the Bell is for SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN ONLY.
    • Cariboo Child Care, is for TRU STUDENTS, STAFF OR FACULTY ONLY and children must be five years old or younger to attend.
  • We encourage you to register with other child care providers as the demand for places at Cariboo far exceeds our capacity.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure all contact information is kept up to date.
  • When a place becomes available that matches closely to your child’s age we will reach out to you by email and invite you and your child to visit our center. The email will have a respond by date. We will move to the next matched child if you do not respond to the offer and your place on the waitlist will be deleted.
  • During your visit you will have an opportunity to hear about our program and share your expectations of childcare.
  • If we are a good match, you will be offered a childcare space. Attending the visit does not guarantee your child will be awarded a space or that you must accept the space if it is offered to you.
  • We will try to provide at least one months notice of an opening.
  • Families may remain on the wait list for a later date if they would like more time.
